The GHI sensor was moved onto the tracker on 2017-09-06. A ventilator was mounted on the GHI sensor on March 7th, 2024. Pyranometer 128767 was also calibrated in November 2012 (sensitivity: 7.95).

Diffuse horizontal irradiance (DHI)#

The Diffuse horizontal irradiance is measured using a pyranometer shaded by a shadow ball, mounted horizontally on a Kipp & Zonen SOLYS2 tracker.

Weather station#

The current weather station is a Lufft WS601-UMB Smart Weather Sensor, which started operation on 2025-04-01. The weather station was initially placed on the railing of the solar irradiance measurement platform. On 2025-05-09, the weather station was installed on a 6 m mast to the north of the platform on the roof of DTU Building 119. The weather parameters therefore, do not follow the standard meteorological measurement practices (e.g., wind should be measured 10 m above ground level). The station is placed 53 m AMSL.

Lufft WS601-UMB Smart Weather Sensor.#

From 2015 until the end of March 2025, the following meteorological parameters were measured by a weather transmitter, type WXT520, from the Finnish company Vaisala Oyj:

  • Air temperature

  • Relative humidity

  • Air pressure

  • Wind speed

  • Wind direction

  • Rain intensity

  • Rain duration
